Through the Eyes of African Women is launching and we we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate the power of young African women! Our guest speakers are from young African women-led activist groups, As Equals; We Will Not Be Silent and the Market March 2018.
This event is not just about introducing the world to Through the Eyes of African Women. It is also about really connecting with other young women to share our stories and fuel each other’s passion. Our theme is Resistance, Resilience and Reformation, reflecting our commitment African women activists and ensuring that our stories are heard. In addition, local young women leaders of activist groups will talk about the amazing things they are doing and what their visions for our future. If you are looking for a space for uninhibited conversations and self-expression, that’s exactly what they’ll get at our launch and with TEAW generally.
The even will include a welcome speech from TEAWs founder, Anwulika Ngozi Okonjo, followed by an open panel discussion and then food, drinks and a chance to connect with other attendees. Later on in the evening we will have an open mic session for spoken word poetry.
